When at the Porsche Sport Driving School at Barber Motorsports Park in Alabama, Patrick took the opportunity to help fellow Porsche driver Hurley Haywood with one of his morning routines: Fetching a cup of coffee as fast as possible.

Are you looking for the state of the art Porsche Low Temperature Thermostat with housing. Well look no further… We now carry the MotoRad Low Temperature Thermostat. (if you do not know, MotoRad is an OE supplier for Porsche)
Porsche OE thermostats do not open until temperatures rise to 180 degrees. The MotoRad Porsche Low Temperature Thermostat opens at 160 degrees without effecting engine performance. This is the thermostat of choice for Autocross, time trial, and track event cars. The lower temp thermostat supports lower engine oil temperatures, which greatly benefits models with Tiptronic transmissions, and helps to prevent heat sync in all mid-engine Boxster and Cayman models, strongly recommended for 911 water-cooled models also. Red Line recommends this product to all of our customers, street or track.
NOTE: ALWAYS replace your thermostat when replacing your water pump.
Our kit includes a new housing gasket (996-106-326-50) and 4x housing bolts (900-378-030-01) as recommended by the factory
Suggested Retail Price: $171.95 / Red Line Technik Price: $149.88
The MotoRad Low Temperature Thermostat fits 986/987 Boxster/Cayman as well as the 996/997 (911) models to model year 2008. The Motorad Low Temperature Thermostat DOES NOT FIT GT2 or TURBO ENGINES.

The Autodromo Nazionale Monza is a race track located near the town of Monza, North of Milan in Italy. The circuit’s biggest event is the Formula One Italian Grand Prix, which has been hosted there since the sport’s inception.
Built in the Royal Villa of Monza park in a woodland setting, the site has three tracks – the 5.793 kilometres (3.600 mi) Grand Prix track, the 2.405 kilometres (1.494 mi) Junior track and a decaying 4.250 kilometres (2.641 mi) high speed track with steep bankings. Major features of the main track include the Curva di Lesmo, the Curva Parabolica, and the Variante Ascari. The high speed curve, Curva Grande, is located after a slow corner, but usually taken flat out by Grand Prix cars.
Drivers are on full throttle for most of the lap due to its long straights and fast corners, and is usually the scenario in which the open-wheeled F1 cars show the raw speed they are capable of (372 kilometres per hour (231 mph) during the V10 engined formula). The circuit is generally flat, but has a gradual gradient from the second Lesmos to the Variante Ascari. Due to the low aerodynamic profile needed, with its resulting low downforce, the grip is very low; understeer is a more serious issues than at other circuits, however, the opposite effect, oversteer, is also present in the second sector, requiring the use of a very distinctive opposite lock technique. Since both maximum power, and minimal drag is the key for speed on the straights, only competitors with enough power at their disposal are able to challenge for the top places.
In addition to Formula One, the circuit hosts an endurance event, the 1000 km Monza, which has been run as part of the World Sportscar Championship and the Le Mans Series. Monza also featured the unique Race of Two Worlds events, which attempted to run Formula One and United States Auto Club National Championship cars against each other, and previously held rounds of Grand Prix motorcycle racing, in the Italian motorcycle Grand Prix. Current major events are races of the World Touring Car Championship and the Superbike World Championship, as well as various local championship races.
The Monza circuit has been the arena of many fatal accidents, especially in the early years of the Formula One world championship and has claimed the lives of 52 drivers and 35 spectators. Track modifications have continuously occurred, to improve spectators safety and reduce curve speeds but it is still criticised by the current drivers for its lack of run-off areas, most notoriously at the chicane that cuts the Variante della Roggia.

]]>Ayrton Senna da Silva (21 March 1960 – 1 May 1994) was a Brazilian racing driver. A three-time Formula One world champion, he is generally regarded as one of the greatest F1 drivers to have raced. He died in a crash at Tamburello corner while leading the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix and is the most recent driver to die at the wheel of a Formula One car.
Senna began his motorsport career in karting, moving up to open-wheel racing in 1981, and winning the British Formula 3 championship in 1983. He made his Formula One debut with Toleman-Hart in 1984 before moving to Lotus-Renault the following year and winning six Grands Prix over the next three seasons. In 1988, he joined Frenchman Alain Prost at McLaren-Honda. Between them, they won all but one of the 16 Grands Prix that year and Senna his first World Championship. Prost claimed the championship in 1989, and Senna his second and third championships in 1990 and 1991. In 1992, the Williams-Renault combination began to dominate Formula One. Senna nonetheless managed to finish the 1993 season as runner-up, winning five races and negotiating a move to Williams in 1994.
Senna was recognised for his qualifying speed over one lap and from 1989 until 2006 held the record for most pole positions. He was especially quick in wet conditions, as shown by his performances in the 1984 Monaco Grand Prix, the 1985 Portuguese Grand Prix, and the 1993 European Grand Prix. He also holds the record for most victories at the prestigious Monaco Grand Prix – six – and is the third most successful driver of all time in terms of race wins. Senna courted controversy throughout his career, particularly during his turbulent rivalry with Alain Prost. Both the 1989 Championship won by Prost and the 1990 Championship won by Senna were decided by collisions between them at those years’ Japanese Grands Prix.

The 911 was premiered at the IAA in Frankfurt in 1963 as the Porsche 901. But a French car company claimed copyright over the use of all model numbers with zero in the middle. Porsche therefore renamed the 901 the 911 — that three figure number which still raises the heartbeat of every sports car fan.
Porsche had been working on the shape of the bodywork for the 911 as early as the fifties, in the days when the 356 was still the marque’s crowd puller. The prototype mutated over time to a four-seater but was not approved by Ferry Porsche. The final shape was the work of Porsche’s son Ferdinand Alexander.
It was decided from the start that the successor to the 356 should also have a rear engine. The choice fell to the six-cylinder Boxer engine with axial fan and — due to the greater speed reserves — an upper camshaft on each side. The camshaft was driven via chains after vertical shafts and toothed belts were disregarded. The 356 frame and chassis were replaced by new designs. The result was a car about which Ferry Porsche later said: “The 911 stamped the unmistakable character of the Porsche sports car”.
